Enterprise Ireland Technology Gateways works in partnership with Institutes of Technology and Technological Universities across Ireland. Our 16 specialised Gateways and 3 sectoral clusters deliver innovation expertise and solutions for Irish industry. They provide close-to-market technology solutions that allow companies to develop new products, processes and services by leveraging the research expertise available within each Institute and University.

Collaborations

EMD Ireland Technology Gateway Cluster

Established in 2016, EMD Ireland is a cluster of six Enterprise Ireland Technology Gateways operating within the engineering, materials and design sector. The cluster provides a range of expertise for companies who are looking to access research and development within these areas. The cluster can connect with over 300 industry researchers in areas such as Precision Engineering, Biotechnology, Polymers, Protective Coatings, Prototype Design, Medical Imaging Technologies and 3D Medal Additive Manufacturing.

EMD Ireland Technology Gateway cluster consists of APT- Applied Polymer technologies; CREST  – Innovative Coatings; Design+ – Applied Industrial Design; MET- Medical & Engineering Technologies; PEM – Precision Engineering & Manufacturing; SEAM – Materials Engineering

Food and Beverage Cluster

The Irish Food Tech Cluster is a consortium of seven of Enterprise Ireland’s Technology Gateways operating within the food and beverage technology sector. The cluster provides a range of expertise for companies who are looking to access research and development within these areas.

Design+ is also part of the Food & Beverages cluster, partnering with PMBRC WIT, MiCRA IT Tallaght, Shannon ABC IT Tralee, Limerick IT, CAPPA CIT and APT AIT.

The cluster can connect industry with researchers in a wide selection of areas that include bioprocessing, food for health, process control and packaging amongst many others.

Design+

Design+ provides businesses with opportunities to increase productivity and create value in products and services in both traditional and emerging sectors. Through R&D Design+ supports companies in creating intuitive products and sustainable solutions providing differentiation and strengthening competitiveness, new product and service development and business solutions that lead to long-term commercial viability, and growth and maximises return on investment.

Design+ use a collective approach bringing disciplinary knowledge and skills from Design, Engineering, Biosciences and Information Communication Technologies to achieve the best outcome for industry.
